The Legacy of Nick Manoloff
The Nick Manoloff Foundation for the Arts and Higher Education honors the profound legacy of Nick Manoloff, a pioneering music educator, composer, and inventor.
As an immigrant from Bulgaria, Manoloff's dedication to making music instruction accessible led him to write more than 180 music books that appeared in over 250 publications, with many of these historical works still available today.
His dedication centered not on seeking personal wealth, but on sharing his knowledge to empower the community. This commitment to accessible education is central to the Foundation's mission today.
The revolutionary instructional methods he created were simple, direct, and effective, providing a strong foundation for legendary artists like B.B. King, Chuck Berry, and others, including Gene Autry. Nick Manoloff's commitment to innovation is also reflected in his technical achievements, including holding a U.S. patent. His historical work is permanently preserved in the United States Library of Congress.
The Foundation was established by Nick Manoloff's only surviving daughter and grandson, ensuring his spirit of educational excellence continues to define our mission.
Our Model for Empowerment
Rather than awarding full scholarships directly, the Nick Manoloff Foundation operates as a professional intermediary. We receive donations and grants and provide financial support to qualified and vetted private schools, colleges, and universities.
